Hiring Expectations
If you’re an employer hiring for an open role, read below for where to set your hiring expectations as you prepare for your perfect candidate:
- An ideal candidate should have experience with most of the skills listed on your job description, but experience in all should not be expected or necessary for someone to thrive in a role. Room for learning and growth in a role can be an asset, as the candidate can be molded into understanding your company processes.
- Candidates will want a clear list of what benefits come with your role beyond salary. It is best to lay all your cards on the table as not listing possible benefits, for example a relocation assistance program, may be the only thing stopping your perfect candidate from applying. Consider if your company has benefits to offer such as company vehicles, yearly retreats, provided office amenities, pet insurance and more.
- Making your candidates fill in their job information into a new form on your website when they’ve already provided that information on their resume will send away candidates. Keep first round applications simple and you can always contact candidates for more information if they look like a possible fit for an interview.
