1. One page only: This is the biggest tip we could give you as a job seeker; keep your resume to only one page. There are many reasons for keeping your resume to one page, including the fact that employers have many resumes to read and should be able to see the best of your work quickly and concisely. If you’re having a hard time cutting it down, start with making the spacing smaller. Then, cut down by removing your oldest jobs or only listing the titles of those jobs and not going into detail with bullets about your role there.
2. Focus on listing your skills and accomplishments that reflect the work you enjoy. You will be hired for a role based on what you present about yourself. If you present what you love about your work, you can expect to see more of that in your day to day at your new role.
3. Get a second set of eyes to look at your resume: Once you have been looking at the same document for long enough it becomes difficult to see it clearly. Find a friend to proofread and make suggestions on formatting and word choice.
