Within the expansive and specialty driven industry of agriculture, some careers may be harder to unearth during the job search. CalAgJobs is here to share a process for job seekers to take that can help with unlocking career opportunities.

1. Start by identifying your desired industry or roles you’d like to work in. Try to be specific about a few options even if you are open to many things. This helps narrow your search, then you can always try searching down another avenue next. Think down to the possible job titles of what you’re interested in.
2. Think of other job titles that the roles could be hiding under. One type of role could be titled, for example, Manager, Director, or Supervisor. The thesaurus is your friend while brainstorming other possible names for the role you’re looking for.
3. Go straight to the source. If you can’t find what you’re looking for, visit the company websites or social channels to see if they are internally promoting any roles. You can also reach out with interest even if you don’t see a role listed. You never know what company is about to post, or doesn’t realize they need someone like you on their team until you send in a resume and a message with your interest.
