Membership and Marketing Manager

Job Summary

Reporting to the Executive Director, the Membership and Marketing Manager is responsible for membership relations and outreach to CFLCA members, prospective members, sponsors, and industry partners within the California agricultural industry. The primary functions of this position are maintaining and developing proactive bilingual external messaging to build the organization and further its goals and membership.

The California Farm Labor Contractor Association (CFLCA) was founded in 2009 and is dedicated to instituting best practices in agricultural labor management through education, advocacy, and service. Our goal is to professionalize California’s FLC sector as the gold standard when it comes to farm-labor practices that promote safe, respectful, and profitable organizations and promote this messaging to the ag and general communities.

Responsibilities

Membership

  • Grows relationships with members, potential members, and affiliated companies.
  • Cultivates relationships with sponsors and potential sponsors.
  • Works with the Executive Director, the Programs Manager, and the Board of Directors to develop revenue sources, including member services and benefits.
  • Onboards and develops relationships with new members.
  • Maintains membership database.
  • Coordinates annual dues billing and payment processing.
  • Supports programs and events as needed.
  • Provides quarterly reporting on development activities to Board of Directors.

Communications

  • Assists with the development of program and organizational materials.
  • Maintains the CFLCA website.
  • Develops CFLCA’s social media presence.
  • Maintains, further develops, and executes organization branding guidelines.
  • Builds media relationships and public relations initiatives.
  • Promotes CFLCA programs and events.
  • Assists in the production of weekly e-newsletter.
  • Spearheads annual scholarship program.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or commensurate experience.
  • Written and verbal bilingual proficiency (English & Spanish).
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • General knowledge of nonprofit organizational practices.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Knowledge of the agricultural community, grant writing, and graphic design is a plus.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary Range

Salary range for this position is $59,000 to $64,000 per year, depending on experience and performance.

Work From Home

This is a full-time, work from home position with occasional travel requirements throughout California. CFLCA will provide or reimburse all home-office work tools and equipment needed to conduct CFLCA business. This includes laptops, printers, cellphone reimbursement, and programs necessary for safe, effective work processes. The equipment is the property of CFLCA, and CFLCA retains the right to monitor the use of such equipment.

Health Insurance

Includes robust health insurance. 90% of premium coverage for employee and optional 50% premium coverage for spouse or dependents.

Vacation Time/Paid Holidays

10 paid major holidays, including New Year’s Eve, New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, the day after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas, and the day after Christmas.

Paid vacation from two to four weeks per year, based on number of years of service. Two weeks for years one through three of service, three weeks for years four to five of service, and four weeks after five years of service.

Meal & Travel Allowances

This position requires occasional travel to hosted programs, board meetings, and meetings with members and sponsors. Travel, overnight accommodations, and meal expenses are reimbursed or charged to Association credit card.
