Position Responsibilities

  • Serves as a liaison between the company, growers, and trucking company for raw fruit delivery to the plant.
  • Responsible for 24 hour delivery of raw tomatoes from field to plant for the entire fresh pack harvest season.
  • Performs crop inspections to plan harvest dates depending on plant capacity.
  • Maps out all contracted acres and varieties from grower’s fields. Direct trucking dispatching to field locations and daily load quantities.
  • Manages all field moves with grower and trucking to ensure raw product delivery to plant is not interrupted.
  • Works with growers to align crews and ensure the proper amount of tomato harvest equipment is available to meet plant capacity needs.
  • Works with hybrid seed companies to determine the best varieties for plant needs.
  • Schedules field samples of tomato varieties for peel and chemistry lab data research.
  • Responsible for ensuring food safety and quality standards are met.
  • Ensures all state pesticide regulations and pre-harvest intervals are met prior to harvesting any fields.

Position Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required, BS degree in Agriculture, Business, Agronomy or related field preferred
  • 5 years agricultural crop advisory or related experience preferred
  • Must be able to read and write English and communicate with crop growers
  • Self-motivated and ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to work as a member of and/or lead cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize one’s own time consistent with the needs of the business
  • Articulates both written and spoken, and possessing excellent listening skills.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft programs including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Ability to think ahead and plan over an extended time period and prepare action plans to achieve results
  • Ability to safely lift 60 lbs.
  • Valid driver’s license and good driving record
  • Ability to learn operation of various popcorn quality control equipment
  • Some mechanical ability preferred
  • Must be able to obtain seed treating license
