CalAgJobs Communications Intern: Kayla Copus

In early October, CalAgJobs hired Kayla Copus as the communications intern for the fall of 2016. Kayla is working closely with Shannon Douglass and Miranda Driver to assist with necessary communications work that contributes to CalAgJobs’ website and brand.

“I am very excited and grateful for the opportunity to intern with such an important and well-known company. I am looking forward to further developing my communications skills in relation to agriculture,” Kayla said.

Since Kayla began the internship she has contributed to CalAgJob’s social media by developing ideas for National 4-H week, National Farmer Day, motivational quotes, memes, and trivia. She is currently working on creating and distributing press releases, as well as blog posts related to professional development that will be posted on the website. As a project, Kayla plans to interview businesses and industry professionals as content for blog posts and newsletters.

Kayla is currently a second-year Agricultural Communications major at California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo. Kayla has a great background in agriculture, growing up on her family’s 40-acre ranch in Merced, CA and was being very involved in 4-H and FFA. She is currently involved in the Agricultural Communicators of Tomorrow club at Cal Poly which allowed her to attend Ag Media Summit in St. Louis, MO this past summer.

Kayla’s enthusiasm about interning for CalAgJobs and her background and experience in agriculture and communications make her a great fit for the position. We are excited to have Kayla on the CalAgJobs team!
