CalAgJobs Designs “California Gold” T-Shirt to Raise Money for California FFA

CalAgJobs and the California FFA have teamed up for a second year in a row to create a t-shirt that promotes the importance of agriculture and FFA to California. The shirt showcases a California grizzly bear with the phrase “California Gold” with the California FFA logo. The t-shirts will be gifted to those who donate $15 or more at the California FFA, CalAgJobs booth, or online during the 2018 World Ag Expo. All proceeds from the t-shirt sale will be donated to California FFA Foundation.

California FFA Foundation

“The California FFA Foundation is excited to be partnering with CalAgJobs again this year and connecting our members to resources that will support keeping them employed and engaged in the agriculture industry in California,” added California FFA Foundation Chair, Dennis Albiani.

The shirt is being offered in youth sizes XS-XL and adult sizes S – 3XL in both men’s and ladies styles. Miranda Driver, the Marketing and Communications Director for CalAgJobs, has been working dedicatedly in the past months to develop the idea, create the design for the t-shirt, and poll FFA students on their favorite design.

“These t-shirts are a great way to advocate for California agriculture and give back to an amazing organization that promotes and inspires the next generation of agriculturalists,” said Shannon Douglass, the Director of Outreach at CalAgJobs.

The World Ag Expo will be running from February 13th through 15th at the International Agri-Center in Tulare, CA. The California FFA will be located in booth 7102 in the Ag Careers & Education / World Ag Women Pavilion. CalAgJobs will be located in booth 1418. T-shirts can be obtained online at http://www.customink.com/fundraising/californiagold.

Kayla Copus, CalAgJobs Communications Intern

Hello everyone! My name is Kayla Copus and I am an incoming third-year Agricultural Communications major with a minor in Agribusiness, from Merced, CA. CalAgJobs Communications Intern: Kayla Copus

In early October, CalAgJobs hired Kayla Copus as the communications intern for the fall of 2016. Kayla is working closely with Shannon Douglass and Miranda Driver to assist with necessary communications work that contributes to CalAgJobs’ website and brand.

“I am very excited and grateful for the opportunity to intern with such an important and well-known company. I am looking forward to further developing my communications skills in relation to agriculture,” Kayla said.

Since Kayla began the internship she has contributed to CalAgJob’s social media by developing ideas for National 4-H week, National Farmer Day, motivational quotes, memes, and trivia. She is currently working on creating and distributing press releases, as well as blog posts related to professional development that will be posted on the website. As a project, Kayla plans to interview businesses and industry professionals as content for blog posts and newsletters.

Kayla is currently a second-year Agricultural Communications major at California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo. Kayla has a great background in agriculture, growing up on her family’s 40-acre ranch in Merced, CA and was being very involved in 4-H and FFA. She is currently involved in the Agricultural Communicators of Tomorrow club at Cal Poly which allowed her to attend Ag Media Summit in St. Louis, MO this past summer.

Kayla’s enthusiasm about interning for CalAgJobs and her background and experience in agriculture and communications make her a great fit for the position. We are excited to have Kayla on the CalAgJobs team!
